How The Canteen Ledger handles reader data: no accounts, no tracking scripts, only host server logs and email kept for the exchange.
What the site collects
The Canteen Ledger has no account system, no newsletter, no comment box and no tracking script. No analytics service runs on these pages. No advertising network is present. Reading an entry leaves no cookie on your device and no profile on ours.
Server logs
The host server keeps standard access logs: the address a request came from, the time, the page requested and the browser string. These logs exist for security and for diagnosing faults. They are not joined to any other record and are not used to build a picture of a reader.
A message sent to contact@canteenoncliftonstreet.com is kept only for the exchange it belongs to. The address is used to answer the question and for nothing else. It is not added to a list, not sold, not shared with a person, supplier or publication named on the site.
Correction and removal
A reader may write to the same address to ask for a correction to an entry or for the removal of personal data. The ledger handles both requests by email. A correction that changes a numbered entry is dated on the day it is checked. A removal request is honoured once the identity of the writer is confirmed.
